Denver Zoo wanted to create an iconic animal that could be seen from a distance on the zoo grounds. A giraffe was a natural fit! The design of this giraffe posed many challenges: articulating the legs, creating a very tall animal that was wind transparent and lightweight, and making it all operable with a single puppeteer. 

Zuri the Giraffe is a breathtaking mechanical sculpture that even caught the eye of the real giraffes at the zoo!
